I am really happy to announce that in July I will be one of six LOGOGRAPHERS working at the artist residency in the Contemporary Art Gallery in Opole.
The “Logographers” project is organised by the Contemporary Art Gallery in Opole (PL) and covers a study stay between 8-19 July 2013 and an exhibition between 18 July and 11 August 2013.
In the project will take a part artists from the Opole region (PL), the Central Bohemian Region (CZ), Rhineland-Palatinate (DE), and Burgundy (FR).
Some words about the project:
The title of the project and its main conceptual axis refer to the Greek logographers (…)
he Greek logographers will be an inspiration for the project participants; their actions will be freely interpreted by artists invited to the Contemporary Art Gallery in Opole. The participants, each arriving from a different part of Europe, will bring the experiences, subjective impressions, fascinations for the places they have visited / seen in their lives, to share them with the audience and other participants of the project. During their artistic stay in Opole the artists will use the tools provided by the modern visual arts to create new legends and stories about the cities and geographic / virtual spaces they’ve seen, and the places they inhabit daily (…)
An important element of an artistic residency in Opole will be the regular meetings with the local community and interaction with artists from the Opole region at a special meeting place (…)
The logographic technique will be used to create “chronicles of stories & events”, which will be shown as an exhibition at he Gallery of Contemporary Art in Opole.

Today I am starting work on the music and multimedia for new theatre performance for the very young entitled THE PAUNCH (in Polish: brzUCHO – words game: belly + ear), directed by Alicja Morawska-Rubczak and with set design of my friend Barbara. We will do this exciting work in Worclaw Puppet Theatre that is a place really open for new artistic exploration also dedicated to smallest babies. Keep fingers crossed!!!
Idea of the performance
Mom’s belly is child’s first home. For a baby this is the closest and the most important part of parent body – safe, comfortable, cosy. Even after birth child needs to be with mum as close as possible and feels as a part of her body during 1st year of life. In our performance we would like to focus on this important and essential part of babies’ world and explore it as an interesting reality, kind of a fascinating microcosm. A set design will be built as a road full of half sphere objects imitating bellies under which will be hidden objects and instruments stimulating toddlers imagination and creativity. Nevertheless, we do not want to explore a prenatal world, but just create space familiar for children and give them feeling of commune with something that they used to know very well, something that is a beginning for all of us. Also choreography will be concentrated on actors’ bellies as a central part of their bodies. The belly is a symbol, recognizable shape and a turning point for artistic research, in which we want to treat the paunch as a home for different creatures and ideas. What is more, I would like to based the music on rhythms similar to heart beats. The director of the performance – Alicja Morawska-Rubczak has had many experiences with work for such a young children, she is also interested in the baby slings and relationship between parents and children’s bodies. It will be her second piece for the very young (also second with my music). In addition to this she wants to lead workshops about theatre for the very young. What is more, she would like to dedicate part of rehearsal process to workshops in creches. The premiere of this performance (June 2013 in Poznań and September 2013 in Wrocław) will be a part of a bigger project of Wroclaw Puppet Theatre dedicated to the very young and curated also by Alicja Morawska-Rubczak.

Day after day I am getting used to live in new city. It is really nice to stop for a while and work on sounds that one’s collected during many long trips. Sounds of Japan are really great, I like the most cicadas that remind me how much music that I adore is close to nature.Below you can find my latest works. One is a kind of application for a wonderfull project called Datscha Radio which is focused on idea of garden in many aspects.
A garden is not just one place, it is many places; not just one system, but many systems. To create a garden for listening and international cooperation which appeals to all of the senses – this is the aim of Datscha-Radio.
This track is based on field recordings of cicadas I have made in Yokohama during works on dance performance "Gift". I processed them with a good old friend of mine to achieve blurry shift from gentle garden to strange industrial glitches. You should check it out if you enjoy high frequencies.
Second one is recording of anonymus site made with my app named Shoal a piece of software which translates text from choosen web site in to the ambient soundscape. I would like to thank Paweł Janicki who made Anomalocaris which is a connector between Shoal app and digital world. Some time ago Polish National AudioVisual Institue in Warsaw make a release of Shoal app/patches so if you would like to check how do your favourites sites sound, don’t hesitate to download. For more info check this link (PL only).
Some time ago I have opened (together with Szymon Kaliski), small company named lowertone which develops software for musicians and multimedia artist. Our first project called h.elpers (which is already released) is pack of Max/MSP addons for faster and easier prototyping and learning. I have been preparing tutorials for all of the object included in h.elpers package, so it could be interesting for people who just have started adventure with Max.In next few weeks we are going to release Freeq which is very interestig spectral filtering app for easy and fast frequency manipulations. You can use it to create abstract sound textures or use it like unique denoiser. If you don’t want to miss Freeq release and other forthcomming lowertone events, like us on FB add to your RSS. I am happy to announce that I composed the music for the performance for the very young entitled “Sleep” (“Śpij”) and perform it live during the showes. You can watch it in the Baj Theatre in Warsaw, starting from tommorow (23.03.2012). It was a very special project because ‘Sleep’ has been created especially for the really little spectators, and more precisely – children from several months to 3 years old. The performance ‘Sleep’ is a combination of the oldest Polish theatre for children’s tradition with the untamed imagination and inquisitiveness of young creators and the enormous experience of creativity psychologists and instructors. ‘Sleep’ is the essence of the theatre for the very young, and moreover, the first project in Poland implemented on the basis of workshop work with children in the crèche combined with consultations with creativity instructors. The bases for the compositions were experiments with sound and rhythm conducted with children during those worksophs and improvisations in the rehersals.
